The way this is rendered (relative motions, speeds etc) makes the ISS look several hundred miles long.

I liked the old NASA that achieved the seemingly impossible and actually went places man has never gone before and set foot on it. I liked the NASA that was proud of America and strived to place us in the fore front of technology and exploration. It never made sense to me that the government would cancel the only replacement we had for the shuttle and rely on the Russians for rides to the space station that we mostly paid for. By sacrificing our independence in space we sacrifice our sovereignty

The big picture is learning. Where would we be today if explorers hadn't taken the risks. Yes people die but they do so knowingly. We can choose to stay ignorant & go back to the dark ages.
