Hi Paul. Greetings from the UK 🇬🇧. I used a tone detector and the meter is putting out at about 4K hertz. It seems to be a common hearing problem in veterans and people with tinnitus etc.

Been playing with the new meter as so far I really like it... I know I said I had my VC99+ fixed but it is 4 years old and I just wanted a new one and this was a good excuse to get one. Thanks for the review of the Kaiweets HT118A

I did hear the tone from the carama too. I have issues nowadays hearing the meters tones. 35+ years mechanic banging on metal... :-(

I thought about getting one of these, but strange non-standard jacks. No way. I'll go back to my Fluke 87-5 and my Simpson 260-7. Even though the Simpson uses reverse banana jacks they are available at any jobber like Granger or Graybar.
