I sincerely want to thank you for the training tips you have put out. I m almost in tears because I can help my pup. Your advice and examples are working! She was a rescue my son adopted. He did not spend much time with her. My son s house was broken into and Saphira was in her cage and could not get out to defend my son's home. The burglars entered son s room and destroyed it. Son came home and immediately checked on his pup. She was shaking uncontrollably and son held her. Fast forward...my two sons rented a home. Saphira was locked in a small bathroom unable to see outside, or run, or play for about 10 hours a day. So, I took Saphira in. My pup had to be on Prozac for about a year cus she had tremors. She was scared and had anxiety. It was very sad. I now have a pup who was taken away from his Mom too early and licks his blankets for comfort, locked a long time in a bathroom, experienced a chilling breaking, and been to several homes moved around. No place to call her own and relax. She does now! After all this she is a lil German Shepherd but mostly Basenji. Hard as heck to train! After a year, I took her off the Prozac and showered with love, training, treats, baby pool swimming time, and snuggling with Mom, she's made great progress! I think dogs remember abuse. They have too. She has nightmares a few times a month and cries when she has them. She has no idea where she is. I just talk soothingly and hold her. She stays by my side for a bit. I am deaf in left ear, but Saphira hears for me and is very, very protective of me and the kids. She s not perfect...lol....kind of...a Marley type pup. I needed your advice on training and positive reinforcement. It s working! 🦮

I love watching your training videos. I use several of these with my pittie. Ruger is trained in German and also with hand signals. She is 2 and will give an attitude every once in a while, but she still loves to learn.

When you spend your early days teaching your markers and luring all your positions, these dogs will learn this quickly everytime. This dog knows exactly what to expect from the handler. For those in the back...the dog was taught how to learn by the way it was raised with its food and markers by the handler.

Just so beautiful this is another one of the dogs that you show us that I would love to hug and pet and sit with for a bit but out of respect and common sense I would say to you sure you have a very beautiful dog and leave it at that

I used to have border collie long time ago, very energetic dog, but he was amazing, I used to have some commands but I mainly used body language for most stuff. Like sit lay down, high five, and with bamse he wasn’t the best listener or ignored u, but it was because of the old owner, he over used the commands and water it down so he would ignore u, but like less than a year he was changed completely, old owner bamse ran away he ran after him and barely got him back, when I walked him I never had him in leash, it was on country side, not aggressive at all, but he ran away, I did so too, so he just got scared to lose me so would come look for me instead🤣 but my main point of training him with mostly body language was since he was a border collie and would suddenly run away I couldn’t have a dog that would listen when he wanted, so by not using any commands at all almost and then when there was a command loud it would mean something far more, also pretty funny to see ppl try getting him to lay down since u could say all the words he didn’t care. As soon I took my hand on my back boom down he go 🤣 if dogs have problems with listen using less commands makes them listen better when u first give a command since then it’s not completely watered down

I had two 8-week-olds Belgian malinois dumped at my house along with other dogs (husky breed) and I'm really having trouble trying to train them. I'm not a trainer or a rescue I just happen to want to keep these dogs alive. I would truly appreciate it if you could offer me some advice on how to handle these dogs

I appreciate your training, id love you show a time-lapse video of a owner who has had a puppy become a well trained dog, where these dogs are that clever they know if you’re their trainer they will be good for you because they are not able to take advantage of your ❤ for them. Same as kids they are behaved for grandparents but not for their parents because they know! To train dogs to be like police dogs without the aggression is heavily time consuming, where most people don’t have the amount time to have their dog like a regimented soldier. I agree that if you want a dog like that then you have to put in the effort and time but in reality this is not the case for most people who work have kids ect. This where owners can’t just expect them to be super obedient when they come home from work after leaving them for hours. Im from the uk 🇬🇧 so seeing usa to uk dog training videos, its fundamentally the same but most larger dogs in usa are kept outside and usually protection or guard dogs. Lovely dog on the video 👍🐕

Is it too late to do this on older dogs. I have 3 dogs here at home and 7 working dogs out on the ranch. all very disobedient in their own way. But I’m curious if it’s too late to teach hand and voice command.

It took me a while to learn that with a Belgian you don’t train them to do what you want you train them to figure out what you want. They always want to solve the problem themselves. 😂😂😂

Any chance you'd be willing to walk us thru separation anxiety with 2 dogs?
My Corso has had it since I got him at a year old. I took in a puppy so he wouldn't be alone while I'm at work and although I should've seen it coming, she's developed it to. They're both kennel trained, and they're kenneled anytime i leave them at home. But I'd like to be able to leave them alone unkenneled for short periods without them destroying the house. They don't destroy their bedding in their kennels but if either or both of them are left out for longer than 10-15 min the trash is tipped over, any paper is shredded (and literally eaten by the Corso for some reason), any longer and that's when the pillows get shredded too.

Does the dog have hip dysplasia? My pup was doing that and I took her in and said she does.
