From their 1969 album, "To Our Children's Children's Children, a concept album about living life to the fullest each day.. Written by bassist John Lodge, joined on the vocals by Justin Hayward.
Such a great Moody Blues tune, the depth of the instruments make it such a heavy tune, with extraordinary power, joined by the quintessential Moody Blues vocal vibe. Just a classy tune. The story of living in the moment when life can change in a moment. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Craig. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

One great one that you have missed from this great band is Never Comes the Day. A beautiful song right up your alley. You won't regret it.

A John Lodge composition, whereby he exhibited great generosity and humility of spirit in awarding the lead vocals to Justin Hayward - nothing, and no one can compete or equal the plaintive, emotional vocal delivery of Mr.Hayward. A spectacularly well produced album.

I don't what it is but this song touches deep inside. The bassist wrote the song. John Lodge

Most all of them were multi instrumentalist… as well as raised singing in the boys choir. Mike Pinder was paramount in mastering the evolution and recording techniques of the Mellotron.

One of their many masterpieces. I little more noir than most, but still great always brings tears since my wife’s battle with cancer. ❤️🎶

Great track - Watching and Waiting also wonderful from this album but I particularly like It’s Up to You and Dawning is the Day from A Question of Balance and Have You Heard/The Voyage all listened to as one from On the Threshold of a Dream

One of my very favourite albums since I was 15 years old. I thought the album was about drug experiences of the 60s variety ("higher and higher"). Only years later did I learn it was about the moon landing. I think it fits either theme. It`s both lovely and inspiring.

1969, so a bit of both. Moodies definitely helped create 70s production techniques.

Harri B and commenters, being an old timer I've been listening to The Moody Blues since '67. They have so many great melodic songs on each of their
LP/CD's I wanted to pass on a super list especially to the newbies hearing them for the first time. This list also applies to the long time Moody fans who've
never had a chance to listen to each LP/CD. 1) Nights In White Satin 2) Tuesday Afternoon 3) Are You Sitting Comfortably 4) Legend Of A Mind
5) Ride My See Saw 6) How Is It (We Are Here) 7) It's Up To You 8) The Tide Rushes In 9) Melancholy Man 10) Question 11) Gypsy 12) Out And In
13) Watching And Waiting (Great tune!) 14) New Horizons 15) You And Me 16) The Land Of Make Believe 17) When You're A Free Man (Exceptional song!)
18) The Story In Your Eyes 19) I Dreamed Last Night 20) When You Wake Up 21) I Know You're Out There Somewhere 22) Forever Autumn
23) Lean On Me Tonight. The weekend is here. Happy listening Harri and Moody fans!

The Moodies were one of the few who were able to record in a classical music recording studio in London. Their lush and varied sound was greatly enabled by that.
