Buy a joist hanger nail gun!! They save so much time. Mine has easily paid for itself 5 times over in the 2 years I've had it, plus I never have to hit my finger again. Love the video and the ingenuity in getting your forstner bit out of that hole. Great work!

I do not know anything about building, wiring or plumbing, but I absolutely love learning and watching your videos! I hope that one day I will be able to buy a house and I can come back to your videos and other YouTube videos to figure out how to fix things by myself. I know you can always hire someone but it is cheaper and more so the pride you feel when you fix something yourself is the best. I do not know much about fixing vehicles either but I love to google what is happening to your car and then watching videos to fix it yourself.

Strong walls are awesome, we are in a high seismic zone in BC and we call them up a lot but you have to know what you are doing. Simpson makes some amazing products for framing.

I find when you’re using those Forstner bits, once the hole is started, remove that pilot bit and it can make it easier.

Will you have to use a RSJ? Also will you also be putting in load barring walls?

2" auger would have worked better no? Also on the 2nd floor threaded rods, how are they fastened underneath?

Can you drill holes in the face of the strong wall for exterior gas fired lighting? We're using WSWH14x18.

Also, did you set the 1" bolts in the wet concrete or did you drill them in?
