Why Verstappen-Perez Relationship Won’t Be Damaged By Title Fight
Max started by responding to whether his relationship with Sergio will change during a title fight
“I don’t think our relationship will change. It’s very good now”
Perez then interjected with a question of his own
“We’ll continue to love each other, right?”
Max responded
“Yes we will”
He further explained why
‘’Why would that change? We work well as a team and always try to get the most out of the car for the team”
“We accept it when someone does a good job and I think it’s important to stay respectful to each other”
He signed off by elaborating on the approach they need to take
“May the best man win at the end. Of course we do everything we can on the track”
“But we have to stay respectful and score as many points as possible for the team”

Retired F1 world champion Jenson Button “was surprised Zak [Brown] came out and said [Daniel Ricciardo] was not meeting expectations”
“We all know that. But when your team principal comes out and says that, it definitely hurts. From Daniel’s response, it hurt”
