I'm your host Dillon Shelley and first up on Formula World:

Why Verstappen-Perez Relationship Won’t Be Damaged By Title Fight

Max started by responding to whether his relationship with Sergio will change during a title fight

“I don’t think our relationship will change. It’s very good now”

Perez then interjected with a question of his own

“We’ll continue to love each other, right?”

Max responded

“Yes we will”

He further explained why

‘’Why would that change? We work well as a team and always try to get the most out of the car for the team”

“We accept it when someone does a good job and I think it’s important to stay respectful to each other”

He signed off by elaborating on the approach they need to take

“May the best man win at the end. Of course we do everything we can on the track”

“But we have to stay respectful and score as many points as possible for the team”

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff stated “look at the bad spells Lewis had, stuck behind Fernando [Alonso], the contact with Esteban [Ocon], the red flag in qualifying” [Sky Sports]

“I think the pendulum will swing and this unlucky situation will stop for Lewis [Hamilton]”

“[Lewis and George Russell] are very much on the same pace”

Hamilton, meanwhile, stated “I’m sorry I haven’t given you any great results yet this year” [Personal Statement]

“But I won’t give up. We win and lose together”

Alpine’s Fernando Alonso revealed that they “wrecked the tires on Friday” [AS]

“So knowing it was going to be a 33-lap sprint, [they] didn’t think [they] had the tires to finish the race [in Monaco]”

“This is Monaco and I like to keep other drivers behind me”, he said referring to Hamilton

Retired F1 world champion Jenson Button “was surprised Zak [Brown] came out and said [Daniel Ricciardo] was not meeting expectations”

“We all know that. But when your team principal comes out and says that, it definitely hurts. From Daniel’s response, it hurt”

“I would say the contract is more in his favour, but there will always be clauses”

Will Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez stay cordial even if they fight hard for the championship?

This is what "we all" wanted, someone to push Max, even if there are team orders, if Max fks up Perez will take the points/podium.

Max and Checo are one of the most perfect driver pairings I've seen in ages. Max is aggressive, and fast while Checo is calculating and smooth. They complement each other and it's reflected on the team standings.

It’s amazing that Toto is still sucking up at Lewis by playing down the team.

Dude, you still got someone in 4th place within shooting distance of the top three! Focus on that instead of massaging the ego of the other guy.

I think Max and Checo have a very mature relationship, mutual respect and very similar values that will keep the peace. And I'm here for it🧡1️⃣🧡1️⃣1️⃣🧡

Maybe Hamilton should have spared his engine in Monaco too.

It's strange how when Valtteri had all this bad luck when he was at Mercedes Toto didn't say anything, but when Lewis has some bad luck he expresses it massively. It definitely shows how very one sided Mercedes was (and possibly still is) towards their drivers

If Checo can continue to out-qualify Max then he deserves to go for wins.

Fernando is such a fucking legend. And i just love how pissed Hamilton was being behind Ocon but as soon as he was behind Nando, he just resigned to his fate.

Dynamics this year are great, i hope the cars get even closer.

Even if this means another Rosberg vs Hamilton saga, I want to see the fastest driver win rather than the team favourite. Team orders has sometimes ruined some races for me in the past few seasons.

I love how Toto turns it into "a bad spell for Lewis"
I mean, c'mon... The only reason the red flag in qualifying was bad for him, is because his first lap didnt go great, thats on Lewis (same with Max, his first timed lap in Q3 was not great either). That is also the reason he started in the midfield, so he was in the position to get in contact with Ocon, and he was therefor also in position to get stuck behind Alonso..
Thats not a bad spell, thats just Lewis making a mistake and having to deal with it the whole sunday. PLENTY of drivers didnt get the chance to set their best lap time in Q1 and Q3, and they all had to deal with it on sunday.

Hamilton: "We win and lose as a team"
Also Hamilton: "If the team did better we could've gotten better results"

"Lewis and George are on the same pace" - Toto "Cope" Wolff

Without Checo, Max wouldn't have won his title last year. Max is aware of this, and he is very grateful for it. I don't think he'll be upset at all if Checo does win the title instead of him. Of course he'll be disappointed that it wasn't him, but he'll be happy for Checo.

Not sure why Toto is talking about luck when clearly it's about having a midfield car. LH has had very little experience with a shit/midfield car in the hybrid era and that's why he's struggling.
