Geostrategic Flashpoint: The Eastern Mediterranean

The Eastern Mediterranean forms a geostrategic seam between Europe and the Middle East. For over seventy years, the region represented a strategic anchor for the United States, which understood its importance both to strengthening Europe and to limiting instability in the Middle East. Today, the United States and its allies are struggling to adapt a coherent Eastern Mediterranean regional policy that acknowledges dramatically new economic, political, and security realities while ensuring that the region remains transatlantically anchored.To assess regional security challenges and discuss NATO and U.S. Navy operational approaches to the Eastern Mediterranean, we are pleased to host Admiral James G. Foggo, III, commander, Allied Joint Force Command Naples; commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe; and commander, U.S. Naval Forces Africa, for a timely conversation. Jon Alterman and Heather Conley will offer reflections and observations on a recently concluded CSIS research project on the Eastern Mediterranean.

Generali messages to Turkey was nice and very mature but You should have a perspective from the ground. As a non military citizen l can name lot of hostility towards Turkey, One of them Which shocked me was. Turkey was secure by patriots air defense systems from member country to protect NATO air space . Than suddenly including germany n other Allied countries packed thier air defense system and took them. After that in short time FETO - Military personal AKA CIA pupet Feto air fighter Shoot Down Russian Jet and We didnt have air defense. İf Russia attacked We had no air defense and totaly open for all attacks. NATO played a big gamble and Russian didnt Take the bate and both side saw the game and they are geting closer. I cant say a thing where NATO has served Turkish interest but always opposite them. This is shortly How it looks from here. Now its on Gas, every country can Take Peice of the pie but not Turkey and Turkish Cyprus 😂. İf We were real ally guess We would be supporting eachother to get stronger together. I hope some How Trump can bring some sense and We can have common understanding

Not a former Roman Lake. More like a Greek lake and the basis of the Greek civilization. May I remind the admiral that Napoli, where the 6th Fleet is headquartered, is a Greek founded city of Magna Graecia as is Marseille, Nice, Barcelona and every other Mediterranean port one could think of.
