Don't Ruin Avatar, Netflix! It's The Best Animated Show & A Terrible Movie

Avatar: The Last Airbender is heading to Netflix later this week in a live-action series. It will be 8 action-packed episodes that have me very concerned. The last time Aang was in a movie, it was that awful M. Night Shyamalan film. Here's hoping for the best but a big part of me prefers Hollywood stop touching these great properties. #avatar #netflix

I grew up watching the cartoon. I remember recording episodes on cable and watching them after school. It was really the characters, lore, and the way the bending was animated that drew me in. It was so full of life. I was in 4-5 grade when the movie came out and it just looked scary to me. The film looked dark, the characters seemed overly serious and lifeless, something just felt off. And I was fucking 10 😂
To this day I still haven’t seen the movie and from what I heard, I guess I dodged a bullet.

Hmm the original creators of the cartoon ended up leaving the Netflix adaptation due to creative differences... Probably best to keep expectations in check.

Avatar the Last Airbender is one of my all-time favorite animated series. It's fantastic. I really hope the live-action series is good, but I definitely have some concerns. We'll see how it goes. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the show.

I'll have to check out the cartoon. I've never watched it. I saw the Shyamalan film way back in the day. That was a pile of predictable garbage, so I never bothered with the show.

That's these big companies' problem. They just re skin the same sh*t and throw it out there. I also think a big part of the problem are the consumers who keep giving said companies their money for doing the same things over again. Everything is a remake now, very little new and creative stuff. Great video Adam!

I don't think they should have remade Avatar: The Legend of Aang. They should have left it and Avatar: The Legend Korra alone and created a live action show about another Avatar.
