Показать описание
“Native Seeds: Supplying Restoration” is a nine-part video series that explores the native seed supply chain in the western United States. Filmed over four seasons, this series weaves together footage of seed collectors, farmers, researchers, and land managers working to scale up the supply of native seeds to meet the growing restoration demand. We see the staggering scale of damage to vast landscapes and meet tenacious people who are finding creative, scrappy solutions to restore ecosystems.

Looking at the strong connection to Utah with this project I am struck with the power structure there who at every step works against the ideas presented here.
No other State uses as much water per person.
The Bear River Project is still in play.
The Lake Powell Pipeline still gets funding.
The fight over public lands never ends.
The almost total use of Kentucky Bluegrass is ridiculous.
70% of the water in the State goes to one crop, alfalfa. Alfalfa adds less than 1% to the State's GDP.
The development fever is part of the Culture in the Beehive State.
All aspects of life are monetized in Utah.

This looks like wonderful, important work. I will bet Trump chopped most of this funding and laid off many of the federal workers involved. That is a shame.

Couple things fire seems pretty natural wonder if it's hard for humans to accept natural ecological evolution such as fire. Two who the heck needs sage brush?

Europeans came and colonized these lands, they came and destroyed these lands. Indigenous people didn't do anything but take care and love these lands. Learn from my ancestors. Don't feel bad but learn how to help out the lands so they can be restored!
