The game-changing amniotic egg - April Tucker

Показать описание

350 million years ago, eggs could not survive far from water, therefore animals were water-bound. That is, until the amniotic egg, which allowed animals to live a fully terrestrial life. April Tucker peels back each layer of the amniotic egg, revealing how truly extraordinary this evolutionary marvel is.

Lesson by April Tucker, animation by Pew36 Animation Studios.

The thing that strikes me about the amniotic egg is that it is such a huge leap from the simple amphibian eggs, having many derived structures. I wonder what the in-between stages between the two were like, and which features appeared in which order.

FOR EVERYONE's sake the animation and presentation was heavily inspired by the PC game "Spore".

Daniel. What are you, 3 years old? Why does the way it is presented so important to you? If you don't like it, do it yourself .

It was a TED Talks or TED ED video that said it. It was something about evolution. I think it was about: can we still evolve? Something like that. It was definitely about evolution and definitely a TED video. I will try and look for the vid.

Why did you draw a short-legged flamingo when you were talking about parakeets? That's very distracting.

Why was there a flamingo instead of a parakeet?
