Kid cudi was just as big as an influence as Kanye. The Scott in Travis Scott literally comes from Kid Cudi

Kid Cudi made 808s just as much as Kanye did

Being creative and not being scared on taking risks making hit records that also have that classic feel to them and on top of that..having a real message is what makes kanye west a genius. Not many artist in music history have 10 classic albums 7 of his own and 3 as a producer for the rappers albums below..

Jay z - the blueprint

Common - Be

Pusha T - Daytona

kanye has 84 platinum songs out of 184 songs

75 Grammy nominations.. the 4th most ever kanye won 24 Grammy's in total.

Classics 🎖
Mainstream success 🎖
Critically acclaimed 🎖

All huge achievements it's super rare and kanye has influenced pretty much everyone we listen to. You can hate the man but you can't deny his one of a kind legendary career.

T Pain influenced that album so it's really T Pain that's the influence

Before 808’s rappers would rarely discuss their feelings over a beat. Not that it didn’t exist but Kanye popularized it to a huge extent, rappers didn’t rap about heartbreak or feeling like you’re left out because you don’t have a family of your own etc. Ye was definitely pushing boundaries. Just look at the amount of videos of people like Juice, Lil Uzi and others praising the album.

Yes Cudi influenced Ye but it was 808s that influenced Cudis album craft. You can be a good songwriter but before 808s he wasnt ready to drop a solid project but working on that with Ye and the subject matter, influenced Cud making MOTM

I always thought the Weeknd reminded me of Micheal Jackson tbh

Heavy use of auto-tune should be credited to T-Pain for the 2000's. But it has been a signature sound of 70s Funk.

Kid cudi influenced Kanye, don't get it mixed up. Kanye maybe got Cudi popular but the real person who created these artists is cudi. Kanye could've maybe made this album but it wouldn't be the same by any means without Cudi.

For me 808’s & Heartbreak is an amazing album and in the upper echelon of Kanye’s discography.

As a Drake fan, yes and no. Drake was heavily influenced by Wayne as well, who was also known to genre blend a decent amount. Future yes but more trap and Cudi yes and no, as said Cudi was basically validated saying "this path can and will work if you do it right" and Cudi did his thing

So it's like 35-40% Drake, 70% Future and 65% Cudi

I never thought about it but it definitely influenced future. Going from meathead in the 90s rapping with outkast to future is like night and day
