One thing that's in the background.. You see that the band has fun with it. They've been playing that awesome song for 30yrs. They're tired of it. But that awesome talent wants to sing with it. It shakes things up. It's cool and refreshing..

Been a Metallica fan since '83 and a Miley fan since September...

Was at the festival this summer where she was a headliner. She is the best live singer I've ever seen. Didn't miss a single note while singing live 2 hours straight + communicated with 100k people like they're her friends. Very kind and talented. Her recent album "Plastic Hearts" is my favorite album right now. The VOCALS are insane.

On this same episode of the Stern Show Elton John called this one of the greatest songs ever written. He wasn't wrong. James even teared up a bit from the compliment.

Miley was amazing in Say Hello to heaven, in a Chris Cornell’ tribute.
There’s a lot of Chris influence in her singing style now.
It’s amazing also how she covers songs and keeps her vocal identity without ruining the songs.

It’s has to be so intimidating for her to do this song. It is one song to cover a song but to actually do it with the original band. Man! It must have been a relief once James got into it with her.

I’m so glad that you reacted to this. This is my favorite version of this song. I think her voice adds something wonderful to this song… I think she’s sound unique sound for herself that will set her apart from her contemporaries.

I'm a big metal and rock fan but has NO idea this Collab had happened! And actually... Like when Linkin Park collabed with Jay-Z, I am really pleasantly surprised! Thank you for making this video! 🤘

I would have never expected it a few years ago, but I actually really respect the way she has evolved as a musician. She does a lot of interesting stuff.

I absolutely love Miley’s voice now and the classic rock covers and samples she is doing.

Miley is Miley, sometimes she knows that is "wrong" but she dont gives a single one, she'll sing and feel that moment, even if sounds kinda weird, the choice for the moment, the emotion, we get to share and gosh... Its an experience...

I also recommend Metallica’s Enter Sandman by The Warning and Alesia Cara. Excellent reconstruction

I’m an alto and it is unbelievably difficult to sing this low and project. Really interesting!

When Miley is singing those low notes, she really reminds me of Fleetwood Mac, or rather Stevie Nicks in particular. On that note, I've always found it really interesting how we can usually tell whether it's a male of female voice singing no matter the pitch, and I can't really understand why that is. Your thoughts?

Give *The Warning* ⚡a try. Three sisters from Mexico, raised on piano lessons and classic rock videos from the age of 5. At age 7, they added guitar/drums/bass. Viral (23 million views) cover of Metallica's 'Enter Sandman' at ages 14, 12, and 9 in 2014. Now, Spector is producing a Signature Series bass in the name of the 16 year old bassist and they have an EP and 3 albums worth of original music. Try 'Disciple', 'Evolve', or 'Choke' for their newest.

This performance is incredible. I always get chills. I’m a contralto by trade but w age and smoking I can’t sing very well now except in full voice which doesn’t work for softer parts. I also scream bunches at sporting events & often lose my voice. Concerts too. Anyway, thank you for putting a name to what I figured out: guttural stop. I realized I can’t hold notes so stopped trying. When I sang in Church choirs I learned the vowel tricks but all the hymns were not in my key. I always sing male songs better. Think Ian Anderson. My range has always been limited even in my teens. I love your analysis. You’re my fave. I change keys on my guitar w a capo.

I’d be super curious to hear a hard rock album from her. Something in the vein of the pretty reckless or halestorm. As far as I’m concerned the change couldn’t have been better. She went from great to original which is way better IMO. She found her voice.
