Let's Make Green Bean Casserole!

If you're going to have a classic Green Bean Casserole on your Thanksgiving table, let it be this one! It's simply the best, there's flavor, balance, texture and it's all around a real hit! This will be your go-to recipe!

Recipe:
1-1/2 pounds of Green Beans, trimmed and washed
4 Slices of Bacon, chopped
1 Small Onion, chopped
3 Cloves of Garlic, minced
3 Tbsp of Unsalted Butter
3 Tbsp of Four
10 oz of Mushrooms sliced
1 3/4 cup of Chicken Stock
1/4 cup of Heavy Cream
1/4 cup of Freshly Grated Parmiggiano
Few Sprigs of Fresh Thyme or a pinch of dried
Salt and Pepper to taste

I made something similar to this but low-carb: low-carb bechamel without flour (heavy cream, cream cheese, bouillon cube, grated nutmeg for flavor) with frozen string beans. It was the most delicious green bean casserole I've ever had!

The homemade cream of mushroom is staple in my house! It is infact fantastic on top of a steak. I add a bit of extra fresh cracked peppercorn and it is DELICIOUS 😊

The main thing that makes a green bean casserole is the beans themselves. If using fresh, make sure their done, but not too done. I don't care for canned beans. If not fresh use frozen. This version looked really good. Thanksgiving is the ONE meal of the year that you can enjoy food. SO DO IT

My Sister's Green Bean casserole was a cute little secret joke between my Mother and I. When She would give me Holiday leftovers to bring to my apartment and ask me if I wanted some of the Green Bean Casserole we would both start giggling. It's a great memory.
