The Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign

Nissan and Italdesign have created a new prototype vehicle – the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign – in their first-ever collaboration.

Based on a production 2018 Nissan GT-R NISMO model, the unique car commemorates the 50th anniversaries of both the GT-R and Italdesign and will make its debut in Europe next month.

“How often do you get to ask, ‘What if we created a GT-R without limits,’ and then actually get to build it?” said Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan’s senior vice president for global design. “This is a rare window in time when two big moments intersect: 50 years of Italdesign shaping the automotive world and 50 years of Nissan generating excitement through our iconic GT-R. So to celebrate this convergence, Nissan and Italdesign created this custom GT-R to mark 50 years of engineering leadership.”

Looks like ford gt tail lights, NSX wheels, Hellcat brakes, Jaguar F-type front end with Ferrari headlights, and the body is the result of a one night stand between a GTR and some American muscle but refined 15 years in the future.

I've always loved GTR styling, but you've got to give it to Nissan for this, to combine Italian design with Japanese engineering is a wonderful thing. Not sure if this is only a concept video though- less impressive if it doesn't get produced.

We need to try to move on over the R34 already... Its soon to be 2020... If you love it so much Get One already... I wish I could but I cant... We all know that car will forever be an iconic undeniably exquisite classic... So will the R35 and R36 etc... New desgins new regulations new standards if you dont have faith in Nissan Engineering especially when it comes to GTR's then just step back in line... Even if the new one is all electric then be it it will still set a high benchmark for every other automaker deal with it... Theres a reason I still own my 95 240sx SR20Det 5 speed because I know the way they were once made is gone decades ago... But I love that car so much and mods are endless... This is beautiful btw and I'm eager to see the new R36
