In today's show, you will learn why Bank of America analysts think markets are fragile and headed towards a big crash, how the loss of extended unemployment benefits will lead to less consumption, why the CFNAI surged higher in July, how hedge-fund managers are positioned in the futures market, and why an increase in the TGA is neither bond bullish or bearish.

Who reckons the Black Swan could be the slowly evolving giant train crash of the dull but super important supply chain disaster that's just getting worse every day.?

I have been in two market downturns, 2000 and 2008. I never understood what the bond markets were signaling and consequently lost money both times. Now, my portfolio, for the first time, has TLT and ZROZ to hedge a downturn. Thank you for your insights into the bond market and its relation to the general economy. It's an eye opener!

Mike Green is one of the best when it comes to understanding the structural flaws of ETFs. Mike mentioned when ETFs reach and over %50 of the market. Anyway shocks will create huge volatility.. As problem with ETFs, there no floor beneath most recent market price. As all ETFs do is buy at drive an index higher..

BK delivering the goods! It’s funny that I actually found your channel through seeing some negative comments about you on someone else’s channel. I instantly thought, “this guy has upset someone’s confirmation bias ridden theory. Definitely worth a watch!” I also loved your interview with Neil McCoy-Ward where you brought up that everyone wants to have opinions on inflation and monetary policies without understanding the mechanic’s of it works. I’m here to be educated brother! Love your work! 😊👍🏼

Thank you Steve so much for sharing your knowledge in perspective. I bet you know and comprehend much more than you share about macro. I learned the bond market is the main indicator when music will stop rather than stick market that dances under it. I will see soon. Live long and prosper😎

Just call it "The Macro Metre" ... kind of a play on words. "Hello and welcome to The Macro Metre! I'm your host, Steve Van Metre..."

For some reason, two minutes into the video, I got the idea of calling it The Testosterone Show.

Thanks for another amazing video Steve. Doesn’t the reduction in leverage mean that a deflationary event is expected? Also I read somewhere that a deflationary event in the US can cause inflation in other parts of the world eg Europe or S. American. How is that possible?
