People of West Bengal never had peace. They suffered during the British rule, They suffered during the commie rule and now TMC. God bless the land of Art and Culture.

Nowadays Puniab is following that mindset. Major investment are not coming to Punjab all thanks to road/rail blocks and protests for no reason.

Kolkata could have been no 1 city. But politics spoiled it. Even recent times we have seen what happened with TATA Nano

I am born and raised in Kolkata and the statement from this gentleman is so accurate. Kolkata is lagging behind like the old internet explorer. Somehow it feels the city is still stuck in early 2000’s and never changed. It’s true that it is still one of the most affordable cities for a middle class family but at what cost?

The communists betrayed the Bengal more than British. The same legacy is being carried forward by the current TMC Govt.

He's right. Communists destroyed WB, and the present govt is hitting the last nail on the coffin of this beautiful state! The temptation of ₹1000 is far more appealing to the people of this state than the development or employment. Jo maza bheek mangne mein hai, wo maza mahenat aur samman ke roti mein kaha.

Earlier: What Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow
Nowadays: What Bengal thinks today India doesn't think, India never wants to think

True, even today majority of tech companies or startups ( except some service based companies ) will open their offices in Chennai, Pune, Gurugram, etc if they don't wanna go to Bengaluru. But no one would go to Kolkata

In 2007 Tata started Nano project in Singur (West Bengal), Mamata started protest against it..that time Congress was an ally with TMC against Communist govt of West Bengal.... *Mamata started fake Hunger strike and Rajnath Singh was there to support her* actually every political party was against Left Front because CPIM became pro-industrialization when Buddhadeb Bhattacharya became CM of Bengal in 2001....every single political party was in protest to stop TATAs project...but peace loving CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharya didn't take any step against Mamata when she blocked NH for protest....
Buddha babu once said, "oneday people of west bengal will understand what opportunities they just denied "

It’s true, Kolkata was the Electronic City of Asia, ibm’s biggest headquarters outside US was in Kolkata and Bangalore was built because of exits from Kolkata

Yes, you are absolutely correct.
We should thank to our former CM Jyoti Basu.

When people keep supporting free sarees, rice, monetary schemes, and no protest towards pol violence, then one cant blame the past or present govts, the only one at fault is the people.

That was during the time of Jyoti Basu. But Buddhadeb babu tried to change it. But unfortunately the damage was done by that time!
