Maybe I missed it? But what is the result we’re looking for with this hooking method vs thru lips, nostril, or meat above spine? I can see you avoided damaging the baits mouth and missed the spine but won’t the bait suffocate and die faster this way vs the other methods? Doesn’t it restrict the baits movement more? Not criticizing just genuinely curious.

Tried this! The minnow died pretty fast without any catches. I tried again and caught 2 fish with the minnow still in tact! In the beginning I realized I split its gill..

This is how you lose fish you hook minnows through the top of the nose keeping the hook exposed for better hook set. Using gamagatsu hooks they are spendy but can't beat a high quality hook. Tight lines and bent poles.Greetings from Minnesota🎣😎😁❤

Lol doesn't matter. If you are wanting to catch slab crappies they are gonna engulf minnows and the hook. Only need to do stuff like this when you are begging for a bite and you catch non keepers lol. Just hook it and sink it. The big ones will inhale it no matter what.
