WHAT IS RADIX - How Radix DLT is NOT Blockchain

Radix is a new platform, like Bitcoin and Ethereum, the difference being it is scalable and easy to build on. Radix is not another blockchain platform. Compared to others that start from layer-2 and build on top of present technology and remain constrained because of their underlying technologies' limitations. Radix, on the other hand, is crafted as an entirely new and unique design and is built to provide users with a Layer one protocol. So that companies, start-ups, and developers can build with freedom and without suffering constraints.

Think of Radix as a layer 1 platform, not a blockchain application.

Radix protocol is built around a highly sharded data structure enabling unprecedented levels of scale for a distributed ledger and Radix engine being A Simple, Secure Smart Contract Alternative brings all the agility and scalability that is required by decentralized financial applications (defi).
