However, take note that Ukraine is not Iraq or Afghanistan and with the west's consistent reinforcing, Ukraine can resist pretty well just like in present Kharkiv oblast, but they can't win this war. In fact, president Putin's approval rating was 83% as of May 2022 according to Statista whereas president Biden's rating was 40.8%. With that, taking Odessa and other major cities will just be a matter of time. In fact, Mr. Johnson estimated that it could take 3 months before Odessa (the last city of this war) falls. If that is the case (which is highly possible), then this war could end by September. Now, Russia will be fine economically. Because Russia is one of the fewest countries in the world that's self sufficient, the US and the west rely heavily on Russian resources. Take big brands like Audi, Porsche, Volkswagen and BMW for example. Where do you think the high quality oil that these cars use come from? It comes from Russia. Take NASA as another example. Where do you think that the engines that NASA uses come from? They also come from Russia. So, no doubt, Russia is a world superpower both militarily and economically. So, don't let the medias fool you. Russia is stronger than you think.

Edit: the US also relies on Russia for antimony (51st element of the periodic table) for its weapons. Right now, the largest antimony exporters are China, Russia and Tajikistan. All 3 of them are great allies of each other. So, the US has to be careful not to frustrate China and Russia too much if it still wants to produce weapons in the future.
