$40k drive out is crazy for mid-tier toyota! 4 years ago it was $28k! they are smoking something....

Two months ago I test drove an Accord hybrid and a Camry hybrid. I thought about driving the Hyundai hybrid for about a minute. I got the Camry. Mostly because Honda didn't want to negotiate.

I think Hyundai has significantly stepped up their game. I've owned a 15 Pilot, 98 Camry and my mom has owned multiple civics and CRVs. Her last CRV had major transmission issues. My first Hyundai was a 22 Palisade and loved it. Switched it out for a 24 Sonata Hybrid since the kids were starting to leave the house and not really needing an SUV anymore. We got my oldest a new Elantra and he loves it. Way more "hip" than the other comparable models. Time will just tell how reliable Hyundai has really become. Knock on wood...zero issues with the 3 we currently own.

I’ve yet to find a fully loaded XSE Camry for 39k. They all seem to be 43k at the dealership before any markups.

I got the sonata. I love it with the features it has. One mistake car connections made was the price on Camry to match sonata features are closer to 43/45 not 39. They have a base xse but there is a package you have to get similar features the sonata offers. The warranty I never have an issue with Hyundai honoring it. But with the bluelink for life was a major selling point for me.

I have owned both Camrys and Sonatas in my life. They are both great cars and have positive things to stay about both of them. While the Sonata probably edges out the Camry with features, I will take the Camry reliability any day of the week

I'm taking the Camry, literally 😂. I'm getting one come end of year

Toyota continues to coast off it's history of reliability at the cost of features and style.

I saw a Camry driving ahead of me by night. Their brake lights are really small. barely visible at distance. Toyota got it wrong.

They’re both great cars, I ultimately went with the sonata because of the standard features while the Camry pay walls them in the premium plus package. Not to mention Hyundai has been offering really good lease deals to get more market share. $549 after a trade in while Toyota wants over $700 to lease a similarly packaged Camry.

Im taking the Hyundai Sonata! It's just a better package all away around for the money. People are quick to ding Hyundai's reliability. But dont want to discuss the current problems Toyota is facing. Oh, the irony! The point is that not every car is perfect, including Toyota.

The Sonata comes with the fire extinguisher and steering lock, the Camry doesn't. The Sonata wins every time !

I'm just curious (other than you own an XSE) as to why you didn't compare the Camry XLE against the Limited Sonata as it would maybe have been a fairer comparison for options?

If you prioritize resale value and reliability, the Camry is for you. If you value value and price, go for the Sonata.

At the time you want to resell you Toyota, is the value difference over the Hyundai more than when you bought it? What if you consider inflation, and what you could do with the money you save not going with Toyota?

If you really care about resale, you'll look at all the numbers. So many people offer blanket statements without actually considering what they mean. (And they are ignoring Toyota engine recalls of late.)

I'm currently in the market for a sedan, and got to drive both. The Hyundai offers more features for the money. Although, the Camry had better chassis feel for me, and a bit more juice under the hood. More than likely going to be going with the Camry.

No spare tire on some Hyundai Sonata models. You get one on every Camry. I think this point was overlooked. I’ll take Camry any day and twice on Sunday.

4:36 I asked a Toyota dealer and they said remote start was free for life but the remote start through the app required the connected service subscription. Could you double check this please!

Sonata is more SEDANY looking, lower hood and all that. Underrated car :(
