Contingent (we could also call them conditional) proportions are key to identifying categorical variable relationships. Conditional proportion equality (or near equality) indicates no (or trivial) relationship. The higher the conditional proportion inequality, the stronger the relationship.

The purpose of this video is to help you learn how to calculate conditional proportions with R. Once you have calculated these, you can assemble them into a neat contingency table to include in your reports.
