PICK A QB1! Type ‘9’ for J.J. McCarthy or ‘14’ for Sam Darnold

I wanna see JJ in preseason before I make a choice. But I’m optimistic, JJ was QB 3 on my board pre draft behind Caleb and Daniels so I’m so glad we got him.

I was so happy we drafted him. Wanted no business with Maye. Sloppy mechanics. JJ arm strength and mechanics is flat out amazing.

I went to camp Wednesday and JJ McCarthy is getting starting snaps.

Id really like him to sit for most of the season. He is progressing nicely and can, and will, get better with time. Dont throw him in a situation where if he fails will put doubt in his mind or makes him get impatient and start making poor football decisions. Look at Drake Maye. He is struggling very bad. He just got thrown into the game and is trying to learn on the fly. He has talent, he just isnt getting the time to adjust to the NFL. This season isnt about getting to the playoffs. Its about the team getting better for when JJ takes over possibly next season.

If JJ is ready, which he looks ready, let him play. Let him come in and play with that fresh off of a National Championship swag right now.... while he's hot rather than sitting him for a whole year and forcing him to cool off

JJ McCarthy needs to sit out for a year or so before officially starting. Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady both sat out for a year or so before officially starting.

I have commented on many videos that I am a Michigan fan who followed JJ here. If he starts week 1 as QB1 it's not just because he is the best choice but because he put in the work and accomplished the goals/benchmarks that KOC gave him. If not he waits until he does

I tried to tell you. The microsecond Sam Darnold struggles, everyone will be yelling for McCarthy. Didn't even get two weeks into training camp. Sitting a 1st round rookie QB only works when you already have a good to great QB, Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, Alex Smith etc.

All hype. Apple and oranges. Sammy is the man. JJ is learning period. There was no rush with 1st team secondary to only.

I guess what I’m hearing from a couple podcasters is Darnold had a rough day in practice so “that’s it he’s done” 🤣. Anyone who’s ever played competitive anything knows you can have bad days but the days you want to have suck are practices not game time when it matters. KOC wants the QB’s to try and see what they can fit into tight windows. You work on those things to get better but you also realize at that point you either can’t fit that pass into that tight window and you’ve got work to do. This is all about nothing and when JJ is ready he’ll start and if that’s next year it’s next year. It’s clear people strictly believe what they hear and their opinions appear to be molded by podcasters. I’m not a fan of the huge contracts players are getting but with the shit they have to put up from the media and fans constantly I’m now sympathetic. Holy shit I’ve got this image of a guy dressed up and warpaint on his face banging the drums like they used to do back in The Roman days on the ship to keep cadence as fans spew vitriol at perfect cadence almost zombie like daily 😱. In this case I can justify the huge salaries for the psychological therapy they’ll need when they’re done playing the game. The more I see these pages the more I wonder why these athletes bother. The great HC of the San Diego Chargers Air Don Coryell had some of the greatest offenses I ever saw but when he left football he literally disappeared off the face of the earth. I remember someone had finally found him in some remote area. As a young man I never understood why he just vanished but as a much older man seeing the abuse these players and coaches take from fans and the media I’m surprised more of these guys don’t just disappear like “Jesse Pinkerton of Breaking Bad” for a fresh new start on life.

The ability to run from the QB position and RB position will be big. Look forward to a dynamic year.

I don't care if a player is old or young. I always play the best player!!

That bomb thrown to Trishton Jackson was a terrible throw, grossly under-thrown, Jackson had to slow down and wait for the ball, allowing the defender to catch up to the play and make it close. If McCarthy had thrown that ball well, Jackson would have caught it 5 yards in the clear. How do you miss this stuff, it's plain to see. Don't get excited, that was a greasy play. Against a team with a decent secondary, that would have been an interception.
