19 Children and 2 Teachers. I just can’t get that out of my head. 21 lives gone when it was supposed to be an ordinary day. My heart grieves for all of the families who lost their babies. I wish I had better words but I have nothing. I’m hurting. I’m angry. I can’t stop thinking about how terrified those babies must’ve been. I can’t stop thinking about how empty the homes of their families will feel now. I am wholly devastated and the only thing I know how to do is play. For all of us that are grieving, I hope that peace finds you and comforts your heart. I love you guys.

10 Days later and I still can't bring myself to a deliberate thought on it. It's too painful. Emotionally, too close. My son turned 9 the DAY this happened. I watched him play with his friends the day after for his musical performance. I reflected on how I promised I'd always protect him - the very hour he first came into the world, just as I'm more than certain each of those parents did with their children - and couldn't. The idea of him terrified, looking for me, and me... unable to protect him. Not there. I shudder to think, and it brings me to tears to even approach a thought on it. I can not... for the life of me... comprehend or conceive the thought of living through the reality of that as those parents are. I can only grieve for them all.

Whenever you see disaster or tragedy, we must bring ourselves back to peace. Only peace and love can heal. Hurt and anger, as much as they are a human reaction, only send out hurt and anger. Remember, no one dies. There is no death. And those left behind need to feel peace again someday.
