In our second virtual Ask the Expert, Dr. Fraser Henderson Sr. takes real questions from patients and caregivers affected by Chiari, syringomyelia and related disorders.

Some of the topics discussed include craniocervical instability, atlantoaxial instability, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Chiari malformation, dysautonomia and tethered cord syndrome.

Dr. Henderson, a well-known expert in craniocervical instability, emphasizes the importance of understanding the overlap between symptoms of instability, Chiari, EDS, and even mast cell activation syndrome.

To the one that has chiari symptoms and was told you don't have it the same thing happened to me. I had an MRI and they said I didn't have it but I did. I had another MRI ten years later and they found it. The same thing happened to my mom but in reverse. I was told that a standing MRI will detect it better by my Doctor but that was after I was diagnosed. Good luck
