Funny ...I have a 105 derailleur from 1990 ..short cage that still works fine...on my rag bike but was hammered on for many years. I just always cleaned and lubed it. God bless Shinano but Campy was good also

What if your b limit screw doesn't actually move the derailer at all? Whether the screw is turned in or out the derailer stays in the exact same position. It isn't rubbing the cassette, thank God, but I have no way of adjusting it.

Lift the derailleur before you turn the B screw clockwise. Otherwise you scratch the frame and put unnecessary stress on the screw and thread.
