GS4 Gaming Seat - First look by Inside Sim Racing

I have a GS3 attached to a full motion my FrexGP full motion sim and I can say when combined it creates an AWESOME experience

The GS4 seat was worth every penny for me. Pat Dotson really shows he cares about his product.

I have to say that the GS-4 is great. If you are like me with limited space, this fits the bill. Pat also helped with making a mounting base for the seat since I didn't have any type of sim cockpit to mount the chair to. He is a straight up guy who tries his damn best to help get you sorted out. I will say that adding cheap 4-point belts (off ebay) helps with the seat being able to apply more pressure to your body when the panels move. Great Seat!

The GS-4 works great with a harness. Using a harness helps hold your back against the motion panels on the back of the seat. It really helps enhance the feedback you get from the back panels.

I find that 5-point harnesses are not necessary. A 4-point harness will do everything needed, and is a lot less bulky.

I'd like to know how this would pair with a full motion rig, for extra dimensions of movement and sensation, as great as it is on it's own I could see the two approaches really complementing each other

Just got an email from SimXperience stating they have discontinued the G-Seat production. They are investigating the possibility of creating a better and more reliable G-Seat but there is no ETA for one at this time.

I tested it at a friend of mine and he tested my motion sim. I think the construction and principle is awesome, but the point where pressure is applied is wrong. G forces in corners should come from the side of the seat, not the back. Braking force not from the bottom but from the front edge of the seat... If this would be tweaked in the future, I would add it as a addon to my motion sim.

I wonder why there isn't a 5 point seatbelt system installed? Wouldn't it work better when you would be 'properly seated' so you're not pushed to the front or upwards, but are actually pushed into your seatbelts like you would in real life.
Though I think at that point the seat would have to react a bit differently upon for example braking, by also utilizing the actuators in your back.

So here's the question. How does this seat work and feel when seatbelts are used?

combine the gs4 seat with a motion rig that is turned down in intensity of movement to accommodate the new moving seat, then put a set of the new occulus goggles on ur head and welcome to the BIG TIME :)

Shaun was only sitting so close cos his short legs, and that rig is clearly setup for a taller frame with no wheel telescopic adjustment. I can't imagine that seat would fit a range of body sizes either, looks good for short runs on the rig but a long race would be like going go karting w all the discomfort after

My question is actually the sound, is the seat noisy? I normally race with headphones but I would be concerned if it was to loud for anyone else in the room.

I talked to a guy from ARC at the autosport interational show where they showed off their stuff. We talked about Cruden (the motion thing redbull F1 are using for example) and he said "A real racingcar dosen't move around a couple of decimeter/feet, a racingcar moves around 3-4 mm (formula car), so i think GS4 is on the right way. #saidfromarealracingdriver

How does Shaun and Darin drive so close to the wheel. Thats very uncomfortable and hard to control the car like that.
