Isolated systolic hypertension is one of the most common forms of hypertension among the elderly. Increased calcium and collagen deposition on arterial walls causes an increase in pulse pressure which causes the systolic blood pressure to rise and diastolic to reduce. This leads to the development of isolated systolic blood pressure, which like hypertension can cause end-organ damage if left untreated. It is imperative to diagnose this entity at an early stage, identify the risk factors, and induce prompt treatment to reduce mortality and morbidity in the elderly population.

On the occasion of World Hypertension Day, join us for an exclusive session with Dr. Shubhangi A. Kantikar on “Isolated Systolic Hypertension in Elderly” on 17th May 2023, 3:00 PM IST onwards!
