This is what Mr. Zawinul once said in an interview when he was asked what he missed about Jaco the most. Whenver I listen to his music, I can't help but get sad that he is no longer with us, but then I remember his words about Jaco which now could be said about him and I cherish him the same way.

Boy Joe sure had a hell of an audience that night. I remember way back in March 1977 when I saw Weather Report in St. Petersburg Fla. The sound guy ruined the concert it sounded like Mud! Thank God every member did an individual solo. Jaco Pastorious destroyed my mind that night. He truly did. I kept telling myself " You can't do that on a Bass ". So I went home picked up my Fender Jazz Bass and was bewildered wondering how Jaco got those sounds. The funny thing was the first pro band I was in had Bobby Herzog who wrote " Come On Come Over " on drums and vocals. Plus I played in Ft. Lauderdale with a slew of guys who all knew and played with Jaco. I missed meeting him so many times it wasn't funny. Played with lots of other big heavy players tho so it's all good.

Damn, if this is summer 2007, then it’s very close to the end for Joe. He died in September. . . Great arrangement of this tune, love all of Joe’s sounds except the digital-sounding pad. He was still playing great.
