Hey, what would I need in order to be able to control force, so let's say it's some kind of actuator that can pull max force of 100lbs but if I set it half way then I can still pull the full range of actuator range but it would be 50 lbs, quarter setting 25lbs, ect.??? So like a shock absorber but with on the fly resistance control?

i have some doubt in linear moving system for example my chamber weight is 60kg its resting on the guide rail rail arrangement it has four supports i have move this chamber linear so i have plan to use cylinder for actuation here i have the doubt what is cylinder force i need for moving my chamber linear?if u have time please explain

I'm building a vintage plane and would like to know what you recommend to slide the roughly 60 pound canopy forward/aft 30 inches in about 2.5 seconds for each direction... I'm thinking the belt drive system may be my best option? Power would be 12v - am I being unrealistic ? Thanks

Does anything exist that can make a forging press 12 ton x 2 for instance ? and would they be more than a hydraulic system if they exist ?

I am waiting for someone to come up with a soft tube actuator, like a clutch cable but as a linear electric motor, that can flex, like a muscle.
