3 Pros & Cons of Investing in Rural Real Estate Markets

Investing in rural real estate markets can be a cash-flowing dream or a cash-hemorrhaging nightmare depending on the person you ask. Many investors are quick to write off investing in rural areas due to low population, lack of employers, and fewer houses for sale. But, great deals can be found in the most unexpected places, as Amelia and Grace know.

Both Amelia and Grace got their start investing in small towns, leveraging their local knowledge and relationships to find deals, get great tenants, and build their rental property empires. Before you start looking into “rental properties near cornfields”, make sure that you are in a strong position to succeed in rural real estate investing. Great video! I have been strongly considering investing in my rural hometown for all of the reasons you guys mentioned. Real estate is heavily dependent on relationships, so starting somewhere where you already have connections just makes so much sense to me.

Good video! One other dynamic with rural is trying to find a PM company is tricky and limited. That’s part of why I backed out on a 4plex in a town of 2, 500.
