When is a Noob an Experienced Expert?

Normal sudoku rules apply. Digits cannot repeat along a marked diagonal. A cage contains no repeat digits. Some cages show their sums. Two cells joined by X sum to 10. A clue outside the grid gives the sum of the digits sandwiched between the 1 and the 9 in that row/column.

Finished in 18:16. I had what appeared to be a deadly pattern of fours and sixes at the very end that I had no idea how I was supposed to resolve it, but then I finally saw the vertical 6 sandwich clue that I had somehow completely failed to notice the ENTIRE TIME until then. Wonderful puzzle!

27 minutes because I just completely forgot about the sandwich clues for, like, a while. A lovely puzzle, especially from a brand new setter!!

I finished in 19:54 minutes. This was a cute puzzle that was well done by a first time setter. I quite liked the resolving of the 26 sandwich clue. That was fun to figure out. As always, it feels good to beat Mark's time. Great Puzzle!

What a lovely puzzle. I was a bit concerned there were"too many" rules but actually I thought they worked together nicely and provided interesting ways to progress. Especially well constructed for a first puzzle!

I love how four 8’s starting into box 1 for about 15 minutes and it’s one of the very final digits put in. So little escapes your brain, that it’s a small joy to be reminded once in a while you are a mortal.

Love a straight forward geometry solve!!! Completed in 17m01s.

It's interesting how Mark started with the sandwiches, and used it to determine the order of 1/3 for column 5 early in the solve.

I also figured out the 1/3 combinations (including column 5) early, but did it entirely using the cage geometry. So there are quite a few ways to go about this puzzle!

Really nice puzzle, impressive for a first one as well! Went really smooth for me until the very end - like others, I couldn't figure out the 46 for about a minute or two until I remembered the one sandwich I'd carefully marked earlier in the solve. 😅 Done in 12:47 (conflict checker off), many thanks to Sudoku Noob for a great premiere!
