I just finished Witness for the Dead a couple of weeks ago and it was a good read - thanks for the recommendation. I see my library does not yet have Grief of Stones but I will keep an eye out for it. More in this story line will be very welcome.

This is an excellent review. I wasn't going to pick this book up based upon the previous book, but you addressed the weaknesses of that book and how this book differed well enough that I think I'll enjoy this one. Thank you!

I haven’t read this yet, but hope to in a week or so! I was just at a Becky Chambers book signing (squee!) and she was talking about the importance of the little moments and remembrance of the small things. And I felt like Witness of the Dead personified that. I am so excited to continue Calahar’s journey!!

the author mentioned on Patreon that there will definitely be a third book. I hope it comes out soon! She has a talent for making you feel for her characters so much. I still think about some of her characters from books I read a decade ago

I just finished this, and loved it. I guess I know what you mean about wanting more character development, but I admit I love the mundane and small things of this world as well. And there's some of that...like the scone recipe.

This came out pretty soon after the first one, so I'm very much hoping we'll get the third one as soon! I love this series, I hope it goes on for many years ^_^
