I’m just so happy to see there are others out there that think like me. I have little to no screen time for my 2 year old

That's a misleading headline at best. Every single thing a person does affects their brain. This study has nothing to say whether this affect is positive or negative.

This is hardly new "research" - years ago Nicolas Carr published "The Shallows" were all this is explained. There are serious consequences of too much screen time and not enough physical activity. And please, don't tell me you can have both. It is one of the contributing factors in the fat pandemic around the world.

Its very interesting- my son go to school at 4 yrs - and they was teaching them on tablets 😤☝ ridiculous. They force us to use the devices!!! Even now - how bad is that kids not learning from books. Homework have to do online- barely any hand written study ..
So technically companies doesn't care about how is effecting our kids, they just want everyone be addicted to it. Shame

My toddler has learned so much due to educational kids videos. That's all she watches. And I put it on for her to help while I do chores. Otherwise I have to put my girl in a carrier or let her cry while I do things. I guess it's up to the parents. I think screen time is ok on tv. If its helping your child develop mentally. I do agree it can become addictive but that is at any age.

Dr. Gaya Dowling: "We don't know if it's being caused by the screen time. We don't know yet if it's a bad thing. It won't be until we follow them over time that we will see if there are outcomes that are associated with the differences that we're seeing in this single snapshot."That's the trouble with undereducated persons interpreting scientific studies on their own.  They don't even bother to read what the originators of the study have to say about it's limitations for generalization.  It will be another ten years before we have a chance to analyze the data properly, and then we might not know.  Many variables are involved.Dr. Ed
