my grandfather always used to say, people did not understand Savarkar, that's the reason they wanted to erase his footprints. Now I understand what he meant. Love from a proud Indian Bengali.

At first I misunderstood Savarkar as a man who did nothing but promote hatred because of the media. Now I realise how wrong I was. He was more than just a politician and a freedom fighter. He was also a wise philosopher who had a unique perspective of existence and the universe.

For those who don't know... He insisted, that when he dies there should be no ritual, no asthi visarjan etc and his body should be thrown to electric crematorium.
Before dying he wrote article that he is doing atmarpan... He renounced food, liquid and medicine subsequently and died after 23 days...
It shows how level headed and rational he was.... a true Karma yogi...

For those of you who don't know, Savarkar was a brilliant poet, writer, playwright, philosopher, historian and a social reformer. He was highly intelligent and intellectual man. Congress and BJP reduced him to a cheap political figure.

Britishers knew Savarkar was no ordinary revolutionary, unfortunately, our own politicians undermined him, abuse him for power. He was way ahead of his times. He even envisioned that his thoughts will be more relevant in centuries to come when Bharat will rise. He was a true intellectual and scholar.
