This is great. Forward pass so no fumble risk, longer "pitch" which means the QB (who costs hundreds of millions of dollars) doesn't need to eat the hit to make a defender commit. The space between the defender on the QB and the pitch man is wide enough that he can't influence both players in any serious fashion. Only downside is now the QB is going to be very tentative attacking the LOS as crossing it nullifies his pitch. So kinda lacks the downhill threat. Interesting variation tho. Now I'm kinda thinking if there was a "pass man" AND a "pitch man" to maintain the ability to attack the line, but kinda ruins the blocking superiority by wasting a guy as (and thats really the whole strength of the option)
