Hi Clay. You promote lag a lot in your videos. However, I realized that, when I try to develop a firm lag, I tend to not getting the face closed in time, ending up in pulls or slices. Any hint on how to fix that?

"...you can only have as much lag as you can release." WOW!!!

Clay, I have a comment on swing & ball position. Most golfers do not have the knowledge of club design. Woods, hybrids have progressive face onset. Irons come in all different offsets, Player forged irons made for low handicap & professionals have little to no offset. Almost all game improvement clubs have progressive offset. When a player is making the decision of what irons to buy, if the club has more offset, forward shaft lean & changing ball position at address is an absolute to have the club to rotate in balance as designed & to strike the ball first into impact. This is a highly overlooked condition to properly fit & instruct the player of proper ball position. I have new 718 CB's, which have considerably more offset than my previous MP-32's. I had to change forward shaft lean & ball position in order to have proper strikes. I think this just as important as swing instruction when fitting the player. Thanks for your great knowledge & technique in your instruction.

With 118 speed I can get you 177 ball speed, carry can be far more than 300

You could probably make a fortune selling that foam ball and stick for $99.99 in golf shops.

Why complicate a problem when the problem is simple

This is for the traditional swing though right? Because in the modern body turn swing, you compensate for the open face by rotating your body through impact which will square the face. But I’m more of a traditional swing so this video is good for me.

Clay, once you reach the max lag position, you want to dump the lag as fast as you can. How do you do that? Do you uncock wrists, roll wrists, relax wrists so it just uncoils naturally? Thanks.

God, I was hoping that hat wouldn't be making regular appearances with Clay.

Great vid but a few key points on mechanics were missing such as proper set at the top and right elbow on the downswing... I love your channel... Watch and fine tune my game... 20 down to 6 handicap in two years.. Thanks

Hi Clay, at the top of the swing, should the hands/wrists be tense to hold get the angle at the top or should they be loose and free flowing allowing the club to get there naturally? If I had to guess it would be free flowing but I feel like my backswing gets too out of control this way.
