Fascinating. Does that mean Yeezus (spelling?) was used in the original writings by the Apostles and was changed to Jesus when translated to English?
Love hearing the historical details of Jesus and the times He lived in.
When I want to feel close to Our Beloved Mother and St. Joseph, I often times use Yeshua to address Our Lord.

Well understood. However people better stop worrying about the small details, like name, color, size. Start thinking about am I doing the goin up thing, or is my backside gonna be Charcoal black color going downward seeing red. There is a scholar of Aramaic who has published his own translation based upon his “research” that In the Aramaic of the 1st Century it is his opinion is that the Name of Jesus should be Eshoa and not Yeshua or other derivatives of such. I’m not any kind of scholar. I only put this out there as another example of some Aramaic translation. I think our Apostles should be our primary source for the name of our Savior and the name that Evil hates. As always it best to trust in Dr. Taylor’s expertise.

Some of the apostles wrote about Yeshua in Greek. When they wrote in Hebrew or talked about him or addressed him, they called him Yahshua (or Rabbi). When I pray I refer to Him as Yeshua or Yeshua Messiah as that is His given name. At Mass I use Jesus or Jesus Christ as that is what the majority are saying. When I am with Messianic Jews I use Yeshua or Yeshua Messiah. Read any Messianic bible and the Gospels use the Hebrew name Yeshua.

I wonder if the translated form of His Name was allowed to be altered through time to preserve it from blasphemy.?You never hear His Name “Yeshua” being blasphemed. Only the English, “J.C.”. Maybe the translation preserved His Name for these times? Maybe Traditional Catholics should be more open to praying and not reject His Holy Name in it original form.
