He isn't a diva. He has boundaries and anxiety. He doesn't like to see himself. It should be respected by interviewers.

His team tells interviewers not to plays clips. They agreed to his boundaries then try to cross them. Driver stood up for himself and his clear boundaries. Consent is an important issue we should be talking about. He decided his mental health was more important than in interview. Good for him!

Not a diva. Made his boundaries clear and they ignored it.

Adam has boundaries. Respect that. It's that simple.

That's like someone telling you they have a terrible fear of snakes and then putting a snake on them and getting mad when they leave

If you know he doesn’t like to see himself then don’t do it. Don’t try to be smart.

He's a perfectionist, much like myself. If he sees or hears some of the scenes that he's acted in, he may constantly think of ways that he could have improved it. Picking it to the grain and eventually beating himself up. To me, I don't see that he's a diva, it's just him acting on mental care and preventing days and days of torture.

English is not my best but I would like to leave my opinion ... People need to respect limits. It is not because he is an actor who has to subject himself to unpleasant situations for him. I had admired him before, now I admire more! He showed firmness in his attitude.

if an actor doesn't like watching themselves in movies they have that right, i mean i'm sure it's weird to see yourself on a screen and they obviously didn't ask his consent before showing that clip

Leave him alone. Respect his space and his privacy. Its brave enough that an introvert is out there sharing his inner world with the world. Its exhausting.

I watched an interview with him where he explained he doesn't like to watch himself because he knows he will question the choices he made in a scene; he'a perfectionist and re-runs scenes in his mind and is constantly thinking about ways he could have improved his performance even years later. If he did watch himself act he knows he would analyze himself which could affect his future roles by making him feel self-conscious which would show up on the screen. Instead, he prefers to just express what he is feeling at the moment instead of wondering how he looks on the screen. He is a theater trained actor so it makes sense. He is so natural to watch onscreen his desire not to want to mess with his process seems to be working for him. They should respect his wishes. His desire for privacy and disdain for celebrity reminds me of another wonderfully gifted natural actor Cillian Murphy. Who is also painfully shy and awkward in interviews but, incredibly intelligent and earnest with his answers.

Diva? Yeah, because Marines are so known for their diva behavior. It's incredibly obvious that he's uncomfortable in interviews so how about u respect the request. I figure he's earned it.

dude has a phobia of seeing/hearing himself. that's not unusual, try recording your own voice and playing it back and multiply that feeling by 100. he critiques his own performances constantly so there is a fear that if he sees or hears himself he will nitpick and try to alter his future performances instead of approaching acting in a more organic and truthful way. it's a valid concern for an actor in my opinion. as for the kid, it's blonde so it's likely not even his. he has said he loves his dog more than anything in the world, that's a decent enough hint that the kid is not biological. he hasn't been with joanne for over two years but they maintain a business-type relationship because of their nonprofit.

He's in a very difficult situation, because he wants to accept challenges and accept roles in bigger acts than he used to do, he also wants to be acknowledged and praised for his talent, but doesn't want to become a CELEBRITY. His job is being an actor, but outside of work, he wants to keep his private life private, just like any other working person. I think it's totally understandable. Even though I'm a fan of his and as such, I'm really curious about him as a person and a father, but I accept he wants to save his baby from the attention of the masses. Especially that his wife was harrassed by fans before.
Him not liking to see himself on screen, well, he used to be a theatre actor for a long time, so he's probably not really used to seeing back his performances. Plus on the other hand, we don't know his struggles. Maybe he used to be bullied, maybe he's still on the road of discovering self love and accepting himself, which is really not easy at any age. I'm a person who's working tool is their voice, but I can't stand hearing my own speech, even though it would help me improve my skills to get better in my job, and I know that feeling when you just try to avoid every mirror or reflecting surface because you don't like what you see...
I'm just saying more understanding and less judgement. I totally respect Adam and he's become one of my favourite actors. I hope he'll l always stay this honest and down to earth.
