Installing power mirror adapter for a dash cam

This was an easy install. I put this power mirror adapter in place in less than 10 minutes to power up my Garmin dash cam.

Seems like a nice option with one caveat. You may lose parking mode recording if all power is cut with the key. If that's not a concern or if it works with parking mode, you are all set.

I know this is a 2 yr old video. Thank you for it. My problem is figuring out how to unplug the pin connector from back of mirror. I have 2009 Hyundai Azera with power rearview mirror. But I can’t get close enough to see how to unplug it. I tried taking photos, but can’t get close enough to get good pic.

hello, I have a car in which there is a rearview mirror (the mirror is inside the car) and so... someone cut the wire that connects the rearview mirror and stole this wire. I need this wire what is it called? I can throw off a photo of the wire and the mirror itself (there are 5 wires of different colors in the harness) there is just a video recorder in the mirror. I see 16 pin connector

Very informative video. I have a question I have got a Thinkware Dashcam. I have dongle. Does wiring you showed this way will drain battery in winters? Also do you keep your dashcam on for parking mode?

Nothing to do with this video but it seems a large amount of folks don’t know how to properly fold back to the 1/2 open position.
They aren’t sure of how to tuck in the folds ?
How about a how to video ?

The pos/neg leads off of a 5V USB female port could be back tapped through the mirror motor port.
But this is a good soccer mom solution lol
