I bought one on early release for my father. I've owned a Dual Lite for years and use it all the time to record movies, TV shows, NFL, and college football games. The 4th Gen is much easier to use than the Fire TV Recast and doesn't lose internet connection. Only bugs we've found are in the channel guide information and sometimes it will not show scheduled recordings. Major thumbs up for no subscription fees and the new interface.

I have owned the Tablo Dual for a couple of years. It was OK. Got the 4th gen last week. It is awesome! It does everything faster and better. The new app loads channel info fast and is very user friendly. Thanks for a great product at a reasonable price.

The 4th generation Tablo works well enough and does not require an annual fee for guide service like the legacy Tablos. The Roku and android apps work, but I don’t find them as intuitive as apps for legacy devices. As a Tablo user for many years, the new one disappoints me in several ways. There is no Windows app, no remote access, no commercial skip, and no support for the user community to create 3rd party apps like Tablo Ripper. The new Tablo requires a separate Roku and android app from the old Tablo, which means my Roku now has 2 apps for Tablo. Setup failed several times because it refused to register under my existing Tablo account. Not until I created a 2nd account with another email address would the new Tablo register. The new Tablo is feature poor compared to the old Tablo. I had hoped in buying a new Tablo I’d feel good about retiring my old one. Instead, I’ll be keeping it until the annual subscription runs out in November. I hope by then they at least come up with a Windows app – I have no intention of giving up the ability to watch my Tablo in a small window while working on a spreadsheet, etc.

So you do all the set up on a smart phone? And then it all appears on your TV? And you change channels and make recordings from your smart phone?

Concerning it but I love my cable channels but not the price. So does it provide any cable networks? Also can you use one for multiple TVs?

Does this device support reception and recording of Audio from the second audio program channel? This sub channel contains sometimes programming in Spanish but, what I'm most interested in, Audio description for the blind as I am a blind person myself?

Do you need to hardwire into your network like the old ones or is it wireless and only needs power and a connection to the antenna?

Can you stream outside of the home network? Can I stream recordings outside the house many other devices I’ve used in the past allow for this, but it’s not clear as you mention stream in your home.

Best Buy sold one of these to my parents so I had to drive across town to help them set it up. I tried for 2 hours to get this working. The phone app couldn't find the device. Even if it could, how do you get the picture to a TV? No outputs on this device. What even is this thing? Returned it. Can anyone recommend a over the air DVR solution?

I tried the Tablo Duel Lite a while back and could never get it to connect with my 5G wi-fi. Will this 4th Gen work with 5G?
