I Should’ve Said This Sooner: Advice from a Dying Guy

In this first episode of Advice from a Dying Guy, I open up about one of my biggest regrets — the words I never said, and why waiting to speak your heart is one of the most dangerous choices we make.

After being diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), I’ve learned that time is not promised. This isn’t about being morbid — it’s about being real. If you’ve ever held back love, an apology, or a simple thank you… this is for you.

I don’t have all the answers. But I have perspective — and I’m sharing it one episode at a time.

💬 Tell someone what they mean to you. Don’t wait.

“Regret doesn’t sound like, ‘Oh, I’ve said too much’. It sounds like silence.”

Wise words. ❤

What a beautiful man you are. You can rest easy knowing that you have been ‘that teacher’ for so many students. Me included. Peace, thanks and love. X

My husband had ALS, I miss him daily. He accepted his diagnosis like a boss! He said "these are the cards i've been dealt with, and i'm going to live the rest of my life". We made the most of every day! Thank you for sharing. We are all leaving this 🌏 short journey, hopefully more evolved so we won't have to reincarnate back to this matrix again.

Regrets will eat you like cancer. I tell my kids to always be grateful because the things we take for granted others are praying for. Don't put off what you can do now. No one is promised tomorrow. ❤

You are so right. After I lost my parents I had a lot of regrets…I wish I hugged them more, I wish I said I love you more, I wish I was kinder, I wish i gave them more of my time…..but I’ll make it up to them somehow when I join them in heaven!❤

I wish I could call my brother. He died last year, with a similar disease. He was always trying to be upbeat and grateful right up till the last minute. You are so right, and are an inspiration to many ❤
