I'm the designer of the Beetlejuice set that was up against the Goonies in the first wave. And I feel like Vaggelis was very correct in his account that even though we are 'competing' with each other, we all in the same community and can respect and admire the other builds. I speak with a lot of Lego Ideas designers as well, and many of the others that took place in the 80s challenge even. The Goonies set was fantastic and very deserving of the win. Look forward to when it hits the shelves :)

Just started watching, but love that you got him on to talk about this. I'm a 1980s kid (was 5 when the 80s started and 15 when it ended), so I grew up with all of the movies he referenced. Would LOVE a Labyrinth set to eventually be made with the full cast of main characters. So much could be done with that. This Goonies set will be a must buy for me. And hey, so great to see you yourself. I don't think I had seen a video yet where you were on camera. Nice to put a face with a voice. Back to the interview!

Great interview, I’m so excited for this set! It was nice to put a face to the Stud-Lord voice. It’s funny how you imagine a person will look by their voice and in my experience they never look how you imagine 😊

I think Vaggelis might just be right about the reason why the Pirates theme's not returning so soon..(28:01) Although, we just had the Eldorado Fortress, so you never know.. I know the whole Star Wars renaming issues are not Lego's fault, but Disney's request, so there's that.. (Slave I -> Boba Fett's Starship; Slave Leia -> Huttslayer Leia; etc.)

I think you're on the money w/regard to the Transylvania set. I'm an AFOL who isn't interested in buildings or castle. This will be my first Bricklink purchase, because something I do love is horror. We haven't seen a lot of high end spooky in recent years, unless you count Harry Potter, which is a little spooky- but not really horror like the great Monster Fighers line was. I think there will be others like me.

Hope they don’t change much of the Lego set only thing they have to add is the name of the ship the rope ladder going up the side and all the stuff on top of the deck and they have to add the one eye willys gold room with all the gold and he sat round the table with his other mates
