As my old friend would say they are dog hunters not deer hunters.

The standard reply is “the dogs cannot read posted signs”. However, the man that turns them loose surely can.

I think we as hunters and trappers should go on stike and let the predators take over, just to see what they do when they eat all their livestock, pets, and all

How hard would it be to get out of the truck and make an effort to stop your hounds before they get on someone's property that you know doesn't want them? I am referring to hunting season when the dogs are equipped with GPS collar that relays the dog's location, direction and rate of speed to the handheld receiver on a lanyard around the owner's neck and the big screen monitor in the truck. Wouldn't this make the issue go away? I understand all bets are off after hunting season when the collars are removed and your beloved family members are on a journey to overburden the local humane shelters. Why all the dislike for come here's and people in the northern states, aren't they the majority of people adopting the discarded hounds from rescue groups?

I lived in SC for eleven years, and on several occasions I passed by deer hunters sitting in the back of their trucks while their dogs chased deer. The hunters never set foot into the woods. They just waited for the deer to cross the road, and then try to get a shot. I'm not anti-hunting, but chasing deer with dogs should be banned. These so-called hunters are too damn lazy to make a true sport of it.

There are a lot of hunters here in Pennsylvania especially in the area I live that use GPS collars on their dogs especially when hunting raccoon or coyote

Once the hunters release their dogs how do they keep them off private property that the property owner said no hunting that means you and your dog if your dog goes onto private property then you the hunter are trespassing period

THIS IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN CITY PEOPLE DECIDE TO START A PETTING ZOO. WATCHED ALOT OF YOUTUBE AND START A "FARM" . Move to the country never start any relationships with neighbors and dont try or care about any of there traditions. This is a case of city values move to the country. People have been farming and running dogs in the country for centuries out there. And they always find a way to work it out!

When dogs are used as a tool of nuisance, destruction, &/or vengance (in the name of "hunting" or any other excuse) the unintended consequences spread like wildfire. It only takes a few bad actors to create problems for all (on both sides of this issue). I am grateful hunt dogs packs are not popular in my state & that I am not require to accept any unwanted dog on my private property. The gall of anyone to expect to have privileges on someone elses land is baffling.

Was I the only one who thought this meant hunters were hunting hounds to kill?

Not a single one of my dogs can read. Where my dogs are I am there to. DONT DO IT. I REMEMBER WHEN I WAS A KID A FELLER MOVED INTO THE AREA FROM COLORADO. HE CRIED ABOUT THEM DOGS AND FINALLY WENT TO SHOOTING THEM.He got the game warden involved. BAD MISTAKE IN OUR HOLLER. To make a long, long story short about 4 miles of new fence got cut between each post, a barn full of hay mysteriously burned one night after a lighting storm, and a herd bull got shot. Wasn’t long the feller moved back to Colorado. DO NOT MESS WITH THEM HOUNDS!!!!YOU WILL NOT WIN. AND YOU WILL LIVE TO REGRET IT. Not being a smart ass. I came from a big fox hunting family. SEEN

I think they should do something regardless It needs to happen in the state of Alabama. where I live too many Hunters run Their dogs across my private property And others and run dear that I stalk hunt off my land and back on there land so they can shoot them then say Oh, it was an accident We have no control over where the dog runs. A lot of people spend money. Good money to bait deer on their own property every year. Only for a dog hunter to run them off our property and back to their property. So I don't blame.
Them for this law. It needs to happen in other states.

Dogs aren't bullet-proof nor are their owners, here in Texas it's not a problem.

If one cannot fully maintain control of their dog, they have no business using that dog to hunt.

With fences and smaller land owners, hunting with hounddogs is something that should be not legal for some areas. Where I live you have idiots moving out here from the cities and hellfornia, and they don't keep their dogs in their yard and I see them running deer or turkey, they won't be returning home. I feed the deer and turkey and I don't hunt, but I have no issues protecting wildlife and cattle.
