More about "Frequencies":
Lucas Bridges finds himself stranded on a distant planet. Haunted by longing for his husband back home, Lucas drinks himself to sleep while spending his days hiking to call for help on a radio with a dying battery. After a brush with death Lucas goes out for another call where he makes an unexpected connection with a man (Joe) stranded on the moon orbiting his planet. Desperate for camaraderie, sparks fly and they talk for hours without realizing Lucas' battery is nearly empty. Joe offers an attempt to get to the planet so they don't have to be so alone. Lucas' thoughts flash to his husband and he's brought to a crossroads - hold on to what he had or embrace where he is right now.

Thank you DUST for hosting our film!! A MASSIVE shoutout to the incredible cast and crew. It was a privilege to work with such talented people and this piece wouldn't be half the film it is without all of you. From camera to props to costume, everyone brought their absolute A-game to an ambitious project about love, loss, and moving on. I hope everyone enjoys watching this film as much as we enjoyed making it.

I really liked this story. What I was really impressed by was watching a completely drunk man get into a hammock without falling out.

It's a small detail, but thank you for including a scene with him shaving. Nothing breaks my immersion faster than seeing guys stranded somewhere for weeks or months and yet their beards never grow!

Excellent film! Especially the abrupt twist of Lucas' mindset at around 16:00. I was so surprised that I was inclined to start yelling at the screen: "What are you waiting for?"! 😆

That was terrific. Made me think of the lyric to an old Stephen Stills song -- "Turn your heartache right into joy, 'cause she's a girl [or he's a boy] and you're a boy. Get it together, make it nice.
You ain't gonna need any more advice ... And if you can't be with the one you love, honey, love the one you're with." One of the best written and acted films I've seen on DUST. And the production and direction are right up there as well. 4.3/5.

Excellent film. The ignorant haters in the comments are so pitiful.

Invented space travel but couldn't come up with a Styptic Pencil?

I think this film is beautiful- the cinematography is stunning, the acting is compelling, the story is really thoughtful, and the set and costume design complete the world you've built. Mostly, I appreciate that you're able to capture a story that any person can relate to- the dilemma of holding out for something that may never be, or taking the leap and embracing the possibility of what could be- and telling it through a lens that celebrates diversity and representation. Because that matters. Thank you for this.

I'm so happy, it all worked out for them in the end. Now, they can share that aftershave.

Seemed like there was sort of a WWII aesthetic to this (clothing, haircut, leather helmet, etc). I don't know why it was there, but it really worked.

It's there a word for WWII tech being used in space travel sci fi?.... You know, something like "Steampunk"? Maybe Alliespunk? lol

A moon outpost with vegetation where you don’t need a spacesuit? Even in 1940 they knew better than that.

Wonderful, lovely, and heartbreaking ... and they lived happily ever after.
