A guy I was in county with was getting diabetic shoes and had his wife take the soles out, line the bottom with whatever substance he wanted and glue the soles back on. And they'd let him get new shoes like once every 2 months.

For reals we used to have the homies gut a tennis ball and stuff it with contraband and throw that shit over the fence here in Cali.

We had a few throw-overs when I was working for Florida DOC, but the main avenue of bringing stuff in was staff. Security staff, food service, library staff, etc. The K-2 coming in magically changed color within 30 days of getting a new assistant warden. I saw so many dudes getting wheeled out covered in vomit and turning gray because they stopped breathing. It was a sad place. Glad you made it out okay

I was in jail and one of the cell mates swallowed a bag of coke. He actually pooped it out. We laughed and dared him to sniff it and he did. It was the most funniest thing ever

My moms a drug and alcohol counselor, and she says anyone who isn’t in a special sector like protective custody, the hole, or a rehabilitation section, they actually had easier access to drugs and alcohol than outside of prison. It doesn’t matter how hard any prison tries to completely clean all drugs out, even if they succeeded, the next day they’d just double the supply. Most if not all prison drug suppliers have at least a couple prison guards on payroll at any given time, so not only do they get tipped off to searches, but also get stuff smuggled in by the people who are supposed to stop the smuggling.
