I have all three I tend to prefer the ultex. But I like the pitch black that Andy Timmons uses as well. With the red nylon that Joe Bonamassa and Eric Johnson uses coming in last. But unfortunately I'm still struggling with these small Jazz 3 picks getting lost in my fingers. I think I played faster with them actually but still getting a bit lost and the Jazz 3 XL I love them too but they're almost too big pretty close to a standard size pick. Maybe I just need to use them or get used to them

Jazz III Tortex in a thick 1.5mm with my 8 gauge extra slinky strings. Cuts like a knife through butter. I'm sure the plastic material is great on the others, but unfortunately they have some bullshit raised texture for the logo on them and I hate the sensation of a pick that isn't perfectly flat and smooth (I know, I'm weird).

That is the quintessential Les Paul sound no matter what pick is used. Wow sounds so great. What pickups?

I'm trying to love the ultex.... But I just like tortex too much. Nylon sounds a bit dull to me

From Ultex to Tortex was night and day! It sounded like you dialed in your tone pot, and rolled off the volume. I mean, it was like switching a Les Paul from the bridge hummer up to the neck.l

Do the Tortex and Ultex have the same bevel as the nylon? If not, is there a difference in picking feel?

Why is this person constantly trying to turn those knobs UP when its clearly up already. If you look, she keeps turning them both the same way but since they are both already at full volume they will not turn anymore . SO your pretty much just turning knobs to look like your actually crafting this amazing tone, when in fact your faking it .

Tortex sounds better to my ears. But I've been playing them for 12 years so maybe I'm baised!

Wow, pretty fingernails dude…
I can’t tell which pick sounds best. There just isn’t enough phaser/flanger on it to really tell the differences between three near identical picks.
