What is really sad is all over on Facebook you'll see people DEFENDING this woman. DEFENDING!! People all over in the posts stating how "the horses are not that thin" "those horses are just old"

I'm not a person that cries very often. But this...
These swollen bellies- I don't want to imagine the amount of worms in these poor horses. Plus the other issues they have, of course. So painful to see all this, even from distance.
Thank you for saying not to send comments to the Rescue due to the amount of work that they have to do especially now, this is such a rarely mentioned thing.

Please stay strong (but cry if you feel like it) and hug your horse and dog from me, too.

4:27 this is truly horrifying. When I first saw this I couldn’t even recognize it as a horse. How could anyone be allowed to do such cruel things to animals for SO LONG. People like this don’t deserve to even be remotely around animals. I hope that horse is in a better place now because the condition this poor horse is in (based in the video) is absolutely and utterly revolting. We need to get this woman life in jail. Thank you for exposing her and spreading the word about her awful treatment of animals.

The lady has other charges too, she had a cock fighting ring in her indoor arena. They’re horrible, and Justine Fitzhenry was the one doing most of the marketing and selling of horses. Her stud is All The Wild Details, he is alive. I don’t know his current condition. This situation is HUGE and terrible. May karma find them quickly

I had the opportunity to assist a cat hoarder. Sadly she genuinely thought she was helping these animals. It’s a mental illness, when we rehomed the majority of her cats and helped get her back involved with people, she stopped hoarding for a bit. After a while though sadly when she got lonely again the hoarding came back. This time it was object hoarding. She has passed now, but I will say, she had no intention of harming these animals. It was honestly just too easy to get them due to our laws and over population. That and even those that knew she was hoarding didn’t want to say anything to avoid hurting her feelings or getting her in trouble.

I used to work for a paint horse trainer and I was familiar with jan johnsons stallion. “All the wild details” Its absolutely insane how someone who could be active in a community with show horses could have horses neglected and dying and just act like its not happening.

I follow a Facebook group called “beauty of the dead” and the whole group was in an uproar over this. Absolutely disgusting! So glad to see you cover this and give more context and some closure.

I haven't done any news research on this story but, if it is any comfort, bail isn't necessary a matter of plunking down the required amount and walking free. Judges quite often set bail conditions. For instance, someone who has been charged with domestic violence can be issued a no-contact order as a condition of bail. In cases involving animal neglect and/or cruelty, it's pretty common for judges to set a condition of no contact with any animal as a condition of bail.

This makes me so sad. You are right animal rights laws need to be updated and changed and have needed to be for a long time. Living out in the prairie provinces of Canada stories like this are not rare unfortunately. When you live in a place that’s nothing but pasture and fields as far as the eye can see it’s very easy for bad people like this to get away with things.
