Well... It's a contemporary notion, that one player executes what traditionally demands the participation of three players to fully demonstrate. I don't mean to disparage the effort of one player exploration, not at all, but its more of a "rendering" of Bata dialogue that should not be mistaken for the full compositional sophistication and complexity of three players at task. This however, this an admirable ; "approximation" of this ancient Nigerian music and drumming tradition. Nice.
