In this video, I give 5 reasons why BMPCC 6K Pro is better than the FX3. I will say though, FX3 has a lot of advantages too!

Also, I turned off autofocus in this video, which is why it looks I'm out of focus sometimes. My lens has started squeaking, so I had to turn it off. My apologies!

Hold up. This video was recorded with the R5? In 8K? Definitely proves that regardless of what you have, it's all about the talent because this video looked like a cellphone footage from 2014.

FX3 does have an optional EVF. It is called the A7S III.

Good points, expecially highlighting the storage costs. This is really a hybrid camera with a focus on the cinematic style ergonomics. A cinema camera by definition focuses on the image, and then builds out the ergonomics around cinematic image quality. Having only a10-bit internal codec makes this a run-and-gun capable cinema-esque type hybrid. Since the buyer actually has to buy add-ons to obtain the best image (raw), purchasing this camera does not even place the buyer in the position of having state of the art pro or pro-sumer tools, to produce the now standard cinematic imagery from a raw codec. Sony is actually attempting to blur the definition of cinema into a Cinematic type of Videography, versus addressing the pure Cinematography/Cinematic market place.

I'm glad she mentioned the autofocus rate because I was completely sold on a pocket 6K pro until I started really keeping in mind the auto focusing abilities hey you don't have to buy or follow focus and be you don't have to pay somebody the full focus for every project that you work on so that $1, 500 will be made up

I also find it baffling that Sony made the FX3 for flying in their new Airpeak drone & to be used with decides to leave internal NDs out & opt for IBIS when pretty much everyone will just use a gimbal anyway.

Owning four Sony GM lenses and one G lens, I ordered the FX3. Had I ordered the BM Pro, I would have to order one or two quality Canon EF mount lenses together with the battery grip and extra batteries (the BM Pro will drain a single battery very quickly). At the end, I would have to pay about the same price as an FX3 alone, and still not have the variety of lens choice as I do now. I would certainly miss the built-in ND filters, but not the focus function in the BM Pro as it lacks continuous autofocus. Both cameras have their advantages and disadvantages. Canon lens owners can use the FX3 with a mount adapter while Sony lens owners can not use the BM Pro.

The cinematic look of the footage beats the FX3, which the rest of the products in the SONY CINE line don't deliver until the FX9, it's the winner takes it all for the 6K Pro. Not that the FX3 is not an incredible camera tho, they shine in their own ways, I own them both and I love them equally.

The FX3 can use SD cards. That being said Sony is known the world over for having great sensors. 6K has more resolution than 4K but it might not equate to better image quality. You have to consider the color science, dynamic range and low light capabilities. Having said that 12 bit RAW might not equate to better image quality. Once again you have to look at the sensor, dynamic range, color science and low light capabilities.

I am reading a lot of quality control issues with the BMPCC 6K Pro which are stopping me making a purchase - anyone else had issues... I have read people receiving badly scuffed bodies, LCD has blue or brown tint that may be fixed with firmware issue, or may not, cameras not starting up, tally lamps dropping out... non of these ideal out in the field...

I have a pocket 4K, FX3, and a Sigma FP. And while I love each for their own reasons, the FP in my opinion is king of the mountain in image quality. Looks like a freaking movie, every time. Just my opinion!

you want to run n gun and shoot cinema - FX3 all the way - now with cinetone and slog3 meta etc - 2 cameras in one.

Nothing beats the BlackMagic Pocket series bang/buck. Nothing gets close. When are you buying the FX3?

Imo, ibis is great for stills, but less so for video. This explains why no cinema cameras have IBIS... and this is one more reason I don’t consider the FX3 to be a true cinema camera. In truth, it’s an A7S3 with the excellent finder removed. I’ll pass.
