Far Cry 1 Graphics Problem Fix Graphics Issues, Missing Textures and Fog

This tutorial video will show you how to fix the graphics glitches/issues in Crytek's Far Cry 1 from 2004 using Update 1.4 and later patches. Bro, when i try to install the patch it stops in the destination window and prohibits me to proceed to the next step of installation. How to fix this problem

If someone has a problem with black screen after installing the patch, just press ESC and ENTER.

Also, if you're getting weird graphics blurring in Far Cry, there's an easy fix for it. After you start the game, hit Ctrl+Alt_Delete to bring up the Task Manager. Click the Processes tab and find the game in your list (FarCry32.exe or something similar). Right click on the game and click 'Set Affinity' Turn off all the CPU's the game is using except for 1. Then, switch back to your game.

The reason this works is because Far Cry (1) originally came out in 2004 when multi-core CPUs were just starting to appear on the market. This game doesn't play nice on machine with multiple cores or can even recognize when it's running on one. There's also a way to set the CPU affinity using a desktop shortcut but it's a bit more complicated.

Ok now I have found a fix that in the Far Cry installation folder not in the bin32 folder open the system.cfg file and edit or rename the line-
r_Driver = "OpenGL"
This works 100% I have tested it now no need to download the 180mb file.
BTW, Ragnos I use the cracked Farcry pc game.

I litteraly wen through all that beginning tunnel sequence in the blue fog thinking that was how the game was supposed to be. "It's an older game, maybe they just didn't grasp the concept of light fog?" Then I got shot and died. Thank you for this.

My friend who owns this on disc has no internet connection. Cannot afford.
I spent about 20 mins trying to fix this issue with no success. It's his favorite game.

Glad it was just a patch. I honestly thought I'd have to go through some hex editing with the exe or something to get it to work on Win 7 hehe.
He has original DVD version of the game. Or CD lol

without patch if you leave the low settings it works fine in tunnel but outside all shit is sort of blue and water is invisible.
i hope the patch will work.

Sorry but this is not a 100% fix. You left the water details on very high, rather than ultra. Then you will see that the mountains do not have reflections in the water. This is a bug that cannot be fixed in Vista+ and only works in Windows XP.
